I understand where you are coming from Tony and I think that kind of distraction is a symptom of today’s world of instant expectation and accessibility. People have become conditioned to expect immediacy on all levels. I have found that many people do not understand or even respect the creatives need for focus and even solitude, except other creatives. I have clients who once they have engaged me to do some creative work for them then ring me a day later …”just to see how it’s going”. I try to condition people early on to not always expect instant responses from me…I actually do turn my phone off and I even tell clients you may not be able to get hold of me because I am working on your project!! Lol….it does seem to work. It helps if we do it in a passive way…..such as….You know how creative people are……we are a bit weird like that!!
